Frederick Tweetup October 12 - 14
Just some hotel information -
I’ve booked 12 rooms at the Best Western, and I have between 25-30 rooms at the Comfort Inn. Both of these hotels are at $95/night with free WiFi, coffee maker, fridge and microwave in the rooms with great, free breakfasts until 10:00am. The code to use for both of these hotels when you call to make your reservation is TWEETUP and you must call the hotel directly. Best Western is 301.695.6200 and Comfort Inn is 301.662.0281. I have also booked 25 rooms with the Hampton Inn at $129/night. Their code is TTU and their number is 301.698.2500. I don’t believe they have any breakfast. MAKE YOUR RESERVATIONS EARLY TO GET THE BEST PRICES AT BEST WESTERN AND COMFORT INN.
After you’ve secured your room, they will want a 24 hour notice if you decide not to come at the last minute.
We’ve got about 70 folks already signed up, so this isn’t just a little hicksville meetup; this is turning into quite a shindig and we’re hoping to make it annual if all goes well. WHICH. IT. WILL!
We’re going to have great badges so make sure you RSVP via twitter so that your avi shows up instead of the little pawn piece. Your name will be on the badges over the Maryland Flag. It’s very cool. For a preview of the badges, go to http://beeftongue.tumblr.com. You can also vote on things there to do on Saturday which includes gambling and bowling!
We have also made arrangements to pick people up at the various airports; BWI in Baltimore, Dulles in Virginia, and Reagan Airport in DC. There’s also a puddle skipper from BWI to Hagerstown Airport. Doesn’t matter where you come in, someone will be there to get you. I’m personally picking up the wonderful Ms Cherilyn and I can’t tell you how excited I am about that!

Happy Mother’s Day
Happy Mother’s Day to all you mothers out there. Whether you’re the mother, aunt, grandmother or special person in a child’s life, today is for you. Today is the day you bask in the love from those that appreciate you and all you’ve done. Today might also be the day that you don’t receive that one phone call or visit. But, no matter; today is still your day. You’ve nurtured and disciplined; you’ve kissed booboos and spent countless hours driving your little one(s) to games or events; you’ve loved and spent quiet time at night reading bedtime stories. So, without a doubt, today is your day.
I hope you take the time to recognize that you are the most important person in a young child’s life, in your adult child’s life. You are because you sacrificed to raise a child. You gave up pieces of yourself to be the best parent you could be with the knowledge you had at the time. Today is not the day to beat yourself up for mistakes made, words said in anger, or estrangement.
So, today, just sit and relax and remember; you make a difference in someone’s life. If it weren’t for you, someone would not exist, or been raised, with the enduring love that only a mother can feel.
Happy Mother’s Day to all of you.
good morning my sweet little tumbrers..
I know I haven’t been posting for awhile.. but.. I’ve been busy with my college classes! yeah! that’s right.. this old broad has gone back to school.. and I feel like a complete idiot..
I thought I was a pretty intelligent person until I started my college composition class.. turns out I don’t know shit about Standard American English.. and that was my best subject in high school! of course.. I could tell myself I haven’t been in school since 1974.. but.. that doesn’t explain my rather successful working career.. oh well.. keep your fingers crossed.. so far.. this broad has a 4.0 GPA! so.. YAY FUCKING ME!!
I’ve missed you guys.. it’s nice to be able to come here and read your posts and sink into each of you..
you freaks are tops on my list of favorite things..
well.. I don’t know about you.. but.. this is just fucking disturbing..
